Secrets in the Pages is a community‑focused event built on kindness, respect, and inclusion. These policies outline how the event runs, how we keep everyone safe, and what attendees, authors, vendors, and volunteers can expect on the day.
 

By attending SITP, you agree to uphold these policies.

1. Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct outlines behaviour expectations for all attendees, authors, vendors, and volunteers. It includes kindness, respect, anti‑bullying, professional conduct, social media expectations, and our human‑made creativity commitment.

2. COVID‑19 & Influenza Safety Guidelines
 

We follow current Victorian Department of Health advice.
 

Feeling Unwell
 

If you’re experiencing symptoms of COVID‑19, influenza, or any respiratory illness, please stay home and rest.
 

Masks & Hygiene
 

Masks are welcome at any time. Hand‑sanitising stations will be available throughout the venue.

3. No‑Refunds Policy

​

Secrets in the Pages is a small, community‑run event. All ticket sales, vendor bookings, and author table fees are final and non‑refundable.

​

Refunds Are Not Available For:

​

• Change of mind

• Scheduling conflicts

• Personal circumstances

• Travel or accommodation issues

• Illness (including COVID‑19 or influenza)

• Weather conditions

 

Event Changes

​

If event details change due to circumstances outside our control, purchases remain non‑refundable.

​

Event Cancellation

​

If SITP is fully cancelled, attendees will be offered:

• A transfer to the rescheduled event, or

• A credit toward a future SITP event

 

Refunds will only be issued if required under Australian Consumer Law.

Ticket Transfers

​

Tickets may be transferred to another person. Please contact organisers to update attendee records.

Vendor & Author Tables

​

Table bookings are non‑refundable. Transfers may be approved by organisers.

4. Photography & Media Policy

​

Photography and media are welcome at SITP.

Please:

• Ask for consent before photographing individuals

• Obtain guardian permission before photographing minors

• Ask permission before uploading photos of others to social media

• Respect privacy and personal boundaries

 

Recording private conversations without consent is not permitted.

SITP may capture photos or video for promotional use.

 

5. Accessibility Statement

We keep accessibility in mind at all times. If you require support, please approach event staff, authors, or vendors — we are here to help you enjoy the day.

6. Ticket Transfer Policy

 

Transfers

Tickets may be transferred to another person at no cost.

How to Transfer

​

Email organisers with:

• Your name

• The new attendee’s name

• Contact details

 

Cut‑Off

Transfers close 48 hours before the event.

Vendor & Author Tables

​

Table transfers require organiser approval to ensure suitability, safety, and compliance with event guidelines.

7. Vendor & Author Policy

Professional Standards

​

All vendors and authors must:

• Treat attendees and volunteers respectfully

• Display appropriate content

• Follow safety and venue guidelines

 

Table Setup & Safety

​

• Arrive on time for setup

• Keep aisles clear

• Use only the space allocated

• Avoid hazardous items (open flames, sharp objects, untagged electrical equipment)

• Clearly label explicit content

 

Permitted & Restricted Items

 

Vendors may not sell:

• Weapons or dangerous items

• Hazardous materials

• Food items without appropriate licensing

• AI‑generated creative content

 

8. Child & Youth Safety Statement

 

Minors and youth are welcome at SITP. Please note that some tables may display explicit content.

We ask that:

• Children are supervised at all times

• Guardians check table content before approaching

• No photos of minors are taken without guardian permission

 

SITP follows Australian child safety guidelines.

11. Lost Property Policy

SITP is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 

Lost & Found

 

Lost property may be handed in at the organiser’s desk.

 

Holding Period

 

Items are held for 14 days after the event.

In the event of an emergency:

• Follow staff instructions immediately

• Evacuation routes will be clearly marked

• Staff will guide attendees to safety

• Wristbands, badges, or passes (if used) must be worn and visible
